When Oxford graduate student George Dole lined up against Roger Bannister at Iffley Road, he wore a pair of modestly-cut shorts with contrast binding. We’ve long admired the not-too-long, not-too-short silhouette and decided to re-imagine the style for modern runners using our performance 2:09 Mesh.

- These shorts are designed with a relaxed 4” inseam silhouette and a channeled drawstring waistband. Unlike the original Van Cortlandt Shorts, these tout a straight hem and a roomier rise to offer an easier fit with more coverage.
- The shorts feature a lightweight liner in the same antimicrobial mesh as the body. Two pockets for keys, credit cards, or gels sit at the back interior of the waistband.
- The 2:09 Mesh came to be, not only for its soft and airy texture, but also for its antimicrobial properties. With the funk-free finish, the shorts are built to battle bacteria.
